Getting started

How to join, what to do first, and basic commands

Sakana Network is a town-building, player-economy server built around Towny. Java and Bedrock players join the same world.

When in doubt, /sakana

Almost every feature is available from the /sakana menu, so you don't need to memorize commands.

How to read commands (read this first)
  • name
    Replace it with your own value

    Shown as < > on this site. Don't type the < >.
    /town new <name> → /town new SakanaTown/town new <SakanaTown>

  • name
    Optional — you can leave it out

    Shown as [ ] on this site. Don't type the [ ] either.
    /home [name] → /home or /home base

  • on/off
    Pick one of them

    Shown separated by |. Type just one, without the |. Each option is explained under the command.
    /plot toggle pvp|fire → /plot toggle pvp/plot toggle pvp|fire

01Join on Java Edition

  1. Open Multiplayer → Add Server
  2. Enter play.sakananw.xyz and click Done
  3. Select the server and click Join Server

  2. Enter the address and port, then save
  3. Select the server you added and join

Same world

Java and Bedrock share one world, so you can play with friends on phones and consoles.

03Your first day

On your first join you spawn at a random safe spot in the wilderness (land that no town owns). Your coordinates are shown in chat.

  1. Open /sakana and look around at what you can do
  2. Find a town with /town list and talk to its members (or found your own with /town new <name>)
  3. When invited, join with /invite accept <town>
  4. Build your home inside town land (only residents can edit it)
  5. Save a home with /sethome <name> (up to 3)
  6. Earn money by filling /orders or selling on /ah
  7. Join the official Discord with /discord

  • Joining an existing town is easier than starting alone.
  • Only residents can edit town land — keep important things inside a town.
  • Throwing items on the ground invites scams. Use /trade to swap safely.
  • Not sure what to charge? Check prices on /ah.
  • Can't find an item? Post a buy order with /order.
  • Looking for land for a new town? Use /rtp (once every 5 minutes).
  • PvP starts OFF. Turn it on with /pvp on only when you want to fight.
